I was laid up sick this weekend, feeling generally crappy with nothing to do but doom scroll and get caught up on some shows. And man, did it reinforce how disturbing social media is—my feed was absolutely bombarded with bullshit.
Every other post was some rage-bait headline, a viral "patriot" meme, or a feel-good billionaire hero story. It wasn't just random nonsense—it was organized, hitting the same talking points over and over, designed to keep me scrolling, reacting, and—most importantly—not thinking critically. Here is the interesting thing, they were all deeply red in nature while my politics are more moderate and centrist.
Curious, I started digging into who was actually running these pages. Who was deciding what deserved my attention, anger, and engagement?
A clear pattern emerged. Vietnam. Indonesia. The Philippines. India. Some others, but these were this Page after page, post after post, all being run by foreign actors with zero stake in American well-being. They weren't pushing this content because they believed in it—they were pushing it to divide, manipulate, and profit off Americans fighting each other.
This isn't an accident or just random scammers looking for ad revenue. This is an invasion of your space, your community, your mind—and the worst part? People let it happen every single day. They in a sense collaborate with the enemy for a fleeting dopamine high.
The Sour Smell of Musk
The story for me gets more interesting when an obvious thread developed. I started noticing the patterns, one name kept appearing over and over—Elon Musk. Not factual accounts of anything but really bizarre stuff that apparently a lot of people are reading. Or maybe they are arguing over him and the content becomes a red herring.
These foreign-run pages relentlessly push the idea of Musk as:
The Family Man – The perfect father, a role model, a moral leader.
The Philanthropist – A genius who only wants to save humanity.
The Free Speech Warrior – The one man fighting against "censorship."
The Mad Genius - A man so gifted his intelligence should be unquestioned.
The Messiah - A Tony Stark like figure dedicated to the betterment of us all.
Why? Because Musk benefits from the same chaos these pages thrive on.
He profits when people are distracted and fighting instead of questioning his business practices. He needs hero worship to insulate him from real scrutiny. And most importantly—he controls X/Twitter, one of the biggest disinformation breeding grounds in the world.
I'm not saying Musk is behind it. I'm just saying, somebody ought to look into it.
Where Class Warfare Meets Cyber Warfare
I wish I could say it’s just Musk. But anyone familiar with Curtis Yarvin knows that there’s an entire oligarchic class pulling the strings—just without Musk’s visibility. These individuals are deeply invested in division and the potential destruction of our union because it serves their interests.
They buy into Yarvin’s vision of a utopian future—for them. A world where they rule over the masses in what he describes as a post-democratic era of network states. And what stands in the way of that vision? Democracy itself. Their ideal world cannot coexist with a society where people have power.
Conveniently, these same figures own, invest in, or control the very infrastructure that has been weaponized to manipulate public perception. Their actions and policies do little to disprove the idea that they’re deliberately steering us toward this dystopian future.
Take Mark Zuckerberg—his elimination of fact-checking has made his loyalties crystal clear. The massive lobbying efforts by him and others to block or eliminate regulation show just how far they’ll go to avoid accountability. They have subverted patriotism itself through their irresponsible policies, abdication of leadership, and refusal to answer for the damage they’ve caused.
These people aren’t visionaries. They aren’t geniuses. They are modern Benedict Arnolds, comfortable selling out their countrymen for profit.
We Must Be Digital Patriots
I feel that the time has come for some digital patriotism. It is plainly obvious to even the casual observer that we are in a digital war for our country and way of life. The simple truth is that the forces behind this are invested in it working. They lose if America wins and I for one think the time of collaborating with them is over.
So we should use the time that we previously dedicated to unproductive and damaging arguments to unfollow, block and report the foreign sites that divide us to take them out of the fight. They only exist if we let them. We have tools that can easily verify stories, memes and pictures BEFORE we believe, like or share them. Nobody is going to do this for us. We need to all become Digital Minutemen and save ourselves and out communities.
The Creed of the Digital Patriot
I am a Digital Patriot.
I defend my mind, my community, and my country from manipulation, division, and foreign influence.
I will seek truth, not outrage.
I will question what I see, verify what I share, and challenge those who spread deception.
I will not be a weapon.
I refuse to let foreign actors, bots, and bad-faith players turn me against my fellow Americans.
I will expose the infiltrators.
I will identify and report the networks that seek to sow distrust and chaos.
I will not let billionaires, foreign adversaries, or algorithms control my thoughts.
I will think critically, engage responsibly, and protect the integrity of information.
I am a Firewall. I am a Sentinel. I am a Digital Minuteman.
I stand ready to defend my country—not with bullets, but with facts, vigilance, and resistance to manipulation.
This is an Information War. I will not be a casualty.
This will not make me rich but helps me keep up the fight. It also lets you show your support for retaking America with a movement of sanity and practicality.
