We Need Task Force America: A Pop-Up Political Party to Take Back Our Country
The time is now for a people's movement to break through existing party barriers, restore the republic, fix how we talk to each other, and then step aside with honor.
Today is Independence Day — but what if we need another one?
Not from a foreign crown. Not from one another. But from the politicians who've forgotten they work for us.
We're not just divided — we're being played against each other while they cash in. We've lost our shared sense of truth, decency, and common purpose. And if we don't change course, the collapse won't come from outside forces — it will come from within.
It's time for something different. Something that helps — and then gets out of the way.
We need Task Force America — a pop-up political party to take back our country for working people.
What Is a Pop-Up Political Party?
Just like a pop-up restaurant or store, Task Force America would be temporary, targeted, and built to get the job done. It would exist for one mission: to restore our Constitution, bring back decency, and cut through the BS.
It wouldn’t ask you to abandon who you are — but it would require you to stand up for what we all deserve. To come together not forever, but for now, and for something real.
Once we fix what's broken, we voluntarily step aside.
Why Now?
Because July 4th isn't just about what we won in 1776. It's about what's been stolen from us slowly, quietly, and deliberately.
We're not here because working Americans failed each other — we're here because we've been played.
By two political parties driven more by power than people
By a media that makes money off our anger, not our success
By social platforms designed to turn us against each other
By a system so rigged and complicated that regular people can't win and a small percentage prosper
And by politicians who feed us slogans about fighting for us while they represent big business interests and even trade stocks on the information related to their roles
We didn't choose this mess — it was built around us, and we've been trying to survive it.
But survival isn't enough anymore.
It's time to take back what's ours.
That's what Task Force America can be — not another power grab, but a repair crew. A people-driven mission to rebuild a country that works for everyone, not just the connected few.
The Charter
Here's what Task Force America would stand for:
Taking Back Our Government — Restore the checks and balances that protect regular people, defend our rights, and stop politicians from becoming dictators.
Shared Prosperity — Build a system where working people get ahead, not just Wall Street and corporate donors.
Treating People Like Human Beings — End the politics of hate. Bring back the ability to disagree without tearing each other apart.
Straight Talk — Demand honesty, facts, and real solutions in public conversation.
Fair Elections — Make sure every vote counts, end the rigged districts, and stop letting political insiders choose their own voters by gerrymandering.
Steping Aside When Done — Once we fix the big problems, we disband. Mission accomplished.
This isn't about a new political brand. It's a reset button.
A Mission-Driven Task Force of Americans for Americans
As a West Point graduate and former Army officer, I've served alongside people who put mission first and differences second. I worked next to folks from every background. In the field, labels disappeared. The mission mattered. When survival is on the line, people stop arguing and start working. Make no mistake, what we have been for close to 250 years is in peril of not surviving.
That's the spirit behind Task Force America.
In the military, a task force gets assembled to solve a problem, accomplish a mission, or fix a crisis. It is a pop-up unit. It's not built to last forever — it's designed to succeed and move on. Its strength comes from results, not staying in power. The moment the job is done, it stands down.
That same idea works in regular life — we see it in pop-up restaurants, community response teams, and grassroots efforts that show up, fix what needs fixing, and then move on.
Task Force America would be a pop-up political party in that same spirit — mission-focused, time-limited, and committed not to grabbing power but to restoring a government that actually serves the people that it exists to serve and who pay for it.
This is not a new political identity. This is a people's intervention — a temporary coalition for saving America and forging a better future.
In this fight, there's room for anyone who still believes America should work for everyone. If you're willing to defend decency, truth, shared prosperity, and the Constitution — you're on the team.
The Oath of Service
Table stakes for this to work are accountability and commitment. For this, there needs to be an oath that binds everyone to this effort. This creates the morter to rebuild the foundation of our Nation. It is simple but far from easy, which speaks to its importance.
I am not the authority on oaths. My expereince is limited to raising my right hand on the parade field at West Point in June of 1989 and holding myself to that same oath today, but it could go something like this.
"I pledge to uphold the Constitution, to treat all fellow Americans with dignity, and to participate in honest, straight talk. I am committed to governing responsibly — not to grabbing or keeping power. I take this oath not as a partisan, but as a patriot, committed to restoring a government worthy of the people it serves. I accept that this movement is temporary — and that its purpose is to succeed, then step aside."
Whether you're a veteran, a student, a small business owner, or a working parent — this is your fight. The only requirement needed would be commitment to the mission and each other - never an individual. Our mission would be America itself and not a candidate or politician.
Party Labels Don't Matter Here
In the end, your party registration is just paperwork. What matters is whether you're tired of a rigged system.
You can be a lifelong Democrat disgusted by corporate donors calling the shots. You can be a committed Republican fed up with politicians who talk conservative but govern like insiders. You can be an independent who's watched both parties fail working Americans for decades.
Task Force America isn't asking you to abandon your beliefs or change your registration. We're asking you to step outside the tribal warfare long enough to fix what's broken for everyone.
This isn't about "owning" anyone. It's about owning responsibility.
Together. Briefly. Boldly.
A Call for Pop-Up Patriots
This July 4th, let's borrow some of that revolutionary spirit — but aim it not at each other, but at the rigged system itself.
Let's imagine a country where service matters more than showmanship. Where we stop calling each other names long enough to link arms and fix what's broken. Where the only identity that matters is hardworking American.
Task Force America is not a movement of the left or the right. It is a movement of resolve — of Americans willing to do the hard thing, and then let go of the power once the job is done.
If we can serve together in war, we can rebuild together in peace.
And maybe, just maybe, this moment of shared action doesn't end in a return to what was — but in the birth of what could be. From this mission-driven task force, we might spark a new generation of political communities — smaller, better connected, and more reflective of real America. Communities that argue, yes, but also listen. That hold values, but never hold them hostage. That work across the spectrum while holding onto what has always made this country exceptional. That, more than anything, aim to elevate the shining city upon a hill — not just by restoring its light, but by building a stronger foundation beneath it.
Let's build Task Force America. Let's take the oath. Let's make sure the freedoms we defend and the prosperity we build are shared by everyone, not just the privileged few. And when we're done, let's take it down with pride — knowing we stood up when it mattered most.
And if the old parties can't be reformed, let's use this rare opportunity to create something better with new parties if we must to truly work toward a more perfect union.
