Always best to keep in its original packaging but you can buy smaller bags and buy them into a 5 gal bucket in that packaging. Add a desiccant and oxygen absorber to the bucket and seal the bucket.
I’ve wondered about dog food. Ive heard that once we open a bag of dog food, the exposure to oxygen begins to degrade it immediately. So my question is- would it be better to just leave a 25 lb bag unopened, hoping it will last past the expiration date pretty well. Or if I immediately vacuum seal it in several smaller bags after opening would be better? I appreciate your perspective and tips
